HVAC project for GHESA in Al Ain hospital
The New Al-Ain Hospital (United Arab Emirates), which includes the HVAC engineering project that we have developed for our client GHESA, one of the largest engineering groups in Europe, with technological management capabilities for to execute complex projects of various kinds at national and international level. Its complex is designed according to international standards, housing the Main Hospital, Rehabilitation Building, Administration Building, Kindergarten, Mosque, Logistics Centre, Utility Centre, Supply Tunnel System, Morgue and Primary Substation.
The construction of the hospital as a whole had to be developed to achieve the goal of a sustainable building design that encompasses the interactions between the environment, the building structure and its active MEP building services.
Project demand and supply
Refrigeration demand
- The cooling energy load for the entire site is approximately 49.35 MW, including additional construction (private development) and is provided from a chilled water plant, located at the Utility Centre. Each main building complex has its own connection point in the chilled water pipes.
Heating demand
- The energy demand for hot water heating (for domestic hot water (DHW) and dehumidification) is approximately 6.36 MW and will be generated by decentralised electric heaters, installed inside the buildings and assisted by solar hot water panels placed on the roof.
Electricity
- EThe power supply from the public grid, with a total electrical connection load of approximately 39.17 MW, will be provided from a new primary substation, located at the south-east corner of the Al-Ain Hospital grounds.

The activities included in the services offered in connection with the hospital in Al Ain are listed below: HVAC audit and BIM modelling.

Key calculations
Heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
