Augmented Reality for valve maintenance at the Klinger plant
Our client, Klinger Saidi, needed a mobile application to show how maintenance tasks can be carried out on valves, conveniently and through a mobile device using augmented reality technology. Thanks to this application, the operator can focus on a valve and view real-time information about it, with direct access to maintenance history and technical documentation, among other functions.
The project therefore involved the design and development of a multi-platform app (iOS and Android) for use on mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) to show the possibilities of augmented reality for the industrial maintenance of plant elements such as the valves of our client KLINGER Saidi Spain.
Augmented reality revolutionizes the industry
Augmented Reality (AR) is revolutionizing many sectors, with new applications and functionalities appearing every day for this technology, which provide solutions with tangible results.
In the industrial sector, this technology is providing great value in industrial maintenance scenarios. Industrial in-plant maintenance is still carried out in the traditional way, with documentation and information being located in the control room, such that the operator who is actively carrying out maintenance is dependent on the control room operators to acquire the necessary information.
Augmented reality provides a fast and natural way to access information from plant equipment, allowing you to make decisions accordingly in the most efficient way.
Functionalities
- Real-time display of information about the valve itself through AR.
- Access to the 3D model of the valve.
- Access to information and technical documentation about the valve. Information.
- Display of the valve maintenance history in real time.
- Simulation of processes involving valves, e.g. water hammers.
Our client needed a mobile application to show how maintenance work on valves can be carried out in a convenient way
This application has unlocked the potential of AR technology in valve maintenance, where maintenance operators can access all the information they need directly from the plant floor, without depending on external agents.
