Veolia, which designs innovative solutions for the sustainable development of cities and companies through the optimised management of energy, water and waste, has entrusted IDEA to carry out a series of engineering works at the Torrepet facilities in Torremejía.

Engineering services and studies at the plastic recycling plant

IDEA has carried out the following engineering works at Torrepet’s facilities in Torremejía (Extremadura):

Survey of the 3D model of the recycling plant and generation of an updated plant layout (initial situation).
Proposals for the general layout of the plant (future situation), production and storage areas, offices and general services.
Proposals of plant flows and layouts for decision-making.
Studies and technical plant reports, for adaptation and improvement actions in the different installations (civil, electricity, fire protection, mechanical).
Basic project and construction project for the extension of the building for a new PET production line. BIM modelling of the entire facility and inclusion in the overall plant model.
Adequacy of fire protection installation in automated shelf storage.

Scope:

Engineering:

Civil studies and reports, state of existing structures, feasibility for adaptation and future plans for the installation of photovoltaic panels, adaptation and improvement of facilities, adaptation of roofs and accesses. Proposed solutions.
Studies and reports on general installations (electricity, fire protection, sanitation). Proposed solutions and improvements.
Basic project and construction project for the construction of a new production line (civil, electrical, fire protection, mechanical etc.)

Architecture:

Proposals for floor plan layouts and architectural proposals for offices and general services building (surfaces, accesses, routes etc.).

Objectives

To obtain an overview of the state of the plant’s facilities. Proposals for improvement.
To graphically document the implementation in the “initial” state (plant modelling and initial layout generation)
To design the plant logistics. Generation of proposals for plant layout improvements, with the aim of obtaining an improved and optimised implementation based on the company’s expansion phases.
