Suria plant expansion – Salt mine
ICL Iberpotash has awarded Constructora San José the expansion works related to equipment upgrades to improve efficiency and current production capacity at the Suria Plant.
Our team from IDEA’s Civil Works department has carried out the manufacturing engineering for the building extension, including BIM modelling with a LOD-400, design and calculation of bolted and welded metal structure joints, including the preparation and delivery to the client of all the documentation and plans for its manufacture in the workshop.
This extension will have a direct impact on the different phases of the production process and, consequently, on several of its buildings, in this case, metal structure constructions.
The final liquid waste treatment plant will have a total storage capacity of 8,200 m3
Scoope
Detail engineering, construction and joint calculation works were carried out. With a duration of 10 months.
The buildings covered by this project are as follows:
- Dryer building: Modelling and manufacturing
- Staircase tower: Calculation of joints
- TPC-419 tape and tower: Calculation of joints
- TPC-417 tape and tower: Calculation of joints
The work was brought forward as much as possible to speed up the construction of the structure. Working on a separate model from the workshop.
The Tekla model we worked with was extracted from the IFC file received from the client, and is a completely faithful reproduction of it.
The information from the IFC was considered valid. Internal collisions of elements were corrected.
Idea sent plans with elevations so that the client and the manufacturer could verify the proposed elevations for the execution of the pillar connections, as well as the designed joints.
