IDEA participates in the INNOTWIN project by contributing its knowledge and experience in digital twins to develop a new management platform for the industrial sector.
The project
The OVERALL OBJECTIVE of the INNOTWIN project is to research advanced technologies and develop a new data space concept for enabling Digital Twins in the Spanish industry while incorporating solutions to improve the efficiency of resources throughout the value chain.
The project has been granted almost €1,400,000 from the NEXT GENERATION funds.
This strategic project seeks cooperation between SMEs in order to develop a reference project in the sector that defines the bases and application requirements for this type of product.
Who participated in the project?
- IDEA, specialised in BIM in the Industrial, Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy and Architectural sectors
- REGENERA LEVANTE, energy service company
- Lis data solutions, specialising in supply chain data analytics
- Inprotech, pioneering cybersecurity company in the creation of an active defence and counter-intelligence platform to fight cybercrime
In addition, relevant Research Organisations, Technology Centres and Universities are also involved, guaranteeing the scope of the proposed disruptive developments: Instituto Tecnológico de la Informática (ITI), Galician R&D Center in Advanced Telecommunications (GRADIANT) and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
What are the implications of INNOTWIN?
It will open up new market opportunities for the development of the digital twin, supported by data spaces, which will provide large-scale industrial plants with a multidisciplinary interface that will improve their efficiency and competitiveness, promoting industry digitisation and enabling the hybridisation of the real and virtual environment. By generating predictive models and the capacity to store and process large volumes of data, industrial processes of all kinds can be optimised using a centralised and interconnected approach. This will make it possible to design and simulate different scenarios, to compare and analyse the implications of each of them, improving decision-making.
INNOTWIN will promote sustainable, safe and efficient industrial production throughout the value chain, promoting a sustainable model in the use of energy, resources, raw materials, production of intermediate and final products, as well as ensuring efficient systems for recycling and recovering by-products.
INNOTWIN will promote sustainable, safe and efficient industrial production
In conclusion
This new concept of DIGITAL TWIN applied to the industry, supported by Data Spaces, will make it possible to virtualise all the systems of a production plant in real time, from the start of manufacturing to waste recovery, with the aim of measuring, evaluating and correcting its performance taking into account the operating conditions in the past, present and future.
