Hidrogea, has entrusted IDEA Ingeniería with the digitalisation of its WWTP plant located in Aguilas (Murcia). The project, which consists of several phases, has the main purpose of developing an APP with Augmented Reality (AR) to provide Hidrogea with a new way to show its facilities by using the latest technology.

Hidrogea has entrusted IDEA with the digitalisation of its WWTP plant located in Aguilas (Murcia) The project, which consists of several phases, has the main purpose of developing an APP with Augmented Reality (AR) to provide Hidrogea with a new way to show its facilities by using the latest technology.

The work started with the laser scan of facilities, using a FARO S150 focus in order to obtain the dot cloud. Meanwhile, both terrestrial and aerial 360º photos have been taken on-site with a drone for the assembly of a 360º Virtual Tour, which can complement the experience.

Both the dot cloud and the 360º photos will be used to model and texture, in 3dsMax, the 3D format (not BIM) of the facility. Therefore, an optimised model for the Augmented Reality (AR) APP is obtained.

This Augmented Reality (AR) APP will be fully customised according to the corporate image of Hidrogea and will have some markers (to launch the AR) that will also be customised and integrable inside, for example, visitation cards. App features: activate and deactivate layers and areas of the model, display information balloons and real-time plant data.
